What is it?
Fire Tonic, aka Fire Cider is a powerful elixir of root botanicals cold pressed with raw Apple Cider Vinegar.
How is it made?
Fire Tonic is made in small batches by finely chopping the ingredients and soaking in raw ACV in order to extract the many beneficial compounds present.
What are the ingredients?
We follow a traditional recipe that calls for: Horseradish, Ginger, Garlic, Onion, Turmeric, Cayenne Pepper, Black Pepper , Raw Honey and of course Raw, unfiltered, undiluted , unpasteurised Apple Cider Vinegar with 'the mother' - The ratio of Botanicals to Vinegar is such that it would be difficult if not impossible to cram more into each batch.
What is it good for?
Without making any specific claims we can say that Fire Tonic has traditionally been used to ward off colds and flu, help the lungs and sinus, provide anti-inflamatory effects while also bringing the many anecdotal benefits of Raw ACV. Each individual ingredient is known for their natural anti-microbial properties but others claim that weight loss and increased recovery speed from physical training are also noticable.
How much should I take?
We recommend sipping about 15ml (1 tbsp) from a shot glass daily, alternatively it can be diluted with juice or water as desired.
What is the shelf life?
Because Acetic Acid is a natural preservative the shelf life theoretically should be several years but we have given this product a 1 year expiry date.
Does Fire Tonic contain live cultures?
The raw ACV we use contains live Acetobacter cultures which are also found in sauerkraut and kombucha and can break down glyphosate, a pesticide residue, into harmless metabolites.
It is currently unclear whether Acetobacter are beneficial to gut health since they are aerobic bacteria and are unlikely to survive in the relatively anaerobic environment of the gut.
